Newsletter

Our newsletter is a forum for members and other subscribers to share information, learn from other programs and find out the latest news from EVA BC and around the province. The newsletter is published 3 times per year and includes articles on key issues affecting programs. Newsletters are distributed to subscribers in print and posted online with a 1-issue delay. EVA E-News July 2012

This issue of EVA E-News featured the kick off of the second season of the "Be More Than a Bystander" initiative that EVA BC rolled out in partnership with the BC Lions Football Club in 2011. Also, coverage of EVA BC's Humanitarian Award from the BC Association of Broadcasters and Tracy Porteous' Scotiabank Game Changer Award. Other articles included information about outreach to older at-risk women, an online fundraiser to support the families of missing and murdered Aboriginal women, prayer convoy along the Highway of Tears, Travis Lulay's donation to Sources Women's Place in White Rock/South Surrey and "Got Consent?" - an awareness-raising campaign by the AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre.

EVA E-News July 2011

This issue of EVA E-News featured the launch of the "Be More Than a Bystander" initiative that EVA BC rolled out in partnership with the BC Lions Football Club.  Other articles included coverage of the March 2011 regional gathering held in Terrace, BC called "Sharing, Gathering, Honouring: Increasing Safety for Aboriginal Women, Youth and Communities", updates related to non-status immigrant women in Canada and info on the Haida Gwaii Community Coordination for Women's Safety harm reduction project "You Can't Hurry Love.

EVA BC Special Edition Journal, National Victims of Crime Awareness Week, Spring 2011

This year's theme for National Victims of Crime Awareness Week (NVCAW) April 10 - 16,
Many Voices, Many Paths, speaks to the wide range of people impacted by crime in our country and their experiences, as well as the range and experiences of those who work on their behalf.
 
In keeping with this theme, EVA BC is pleased to offer readers this Special Edition EVA BC Journal Increasing the Safety and Wellness of Women Impacted by Violence, showcasing research relevant to workers in the anti-violence sector.
 
We are proud to have worked on this journal with the Women and Gender Studies Department of the University of British Columbia and give profound thanks to them, their Chair Becki Ross, and to the funder for this Special Edition, the Department of Justice Canada. 

EVA E-News January 2011

The second edition of EVA E-News featured articles on the Safety of Immigrant, Refugee, and Non-Status Women Project and their trip to Ottawa, the EVA BC Online Survey, highlights from the November 2010 Annual Training Forum & AGM, presentation by Marilyn George to the House of Commons Committee on violence against Aboriginal women, ERA BC resources on the EVA BC website, and International Women's Day 2011.

EVA E-News September 2010
