Membership in the BCASVACP

Membership Benefits

  • Receive our newsletter 3 times a year, with news, resource lists and in-depth articles about the top issues in the anti-violence field.
  • Become a part of the Association's broadcast fax list and receive time sensitive information about funding and policy changes, surveys and more.
  • Receive copies of all the publications that we produce, including manuals, reports and discussion papers.
  • Get reduced tuition fees for the Association's Annual Training Forum.

Criteria For Membership

  • Full membership is generally restricted to these provincially funded programs:
    • Community-Based Victim Assistance Programs
    • Stopping The Violence Counselling Programs
    • Stopping the Violence Outreach Programs
    • Sexual Assault Centres
  • Other similar programs, or programs which are part of the integrated services of a member program, may be eligible for membership. Please contact the Association if you are not sure about your agency's eligibility.
  • Membership is not available for combined Community/Police-Based Victim Assistance programs.
  • Eligible programs within the same agency are considered as one member ("member group").

Membership Fee

  • Membership Fee is at a sliding scale from $60 to $160.

Supporters

  • Individuals and corporations from the community at large who are interested in supporting the goals, aims and programs of the Society through financial assistance, goods or services, are called supporters of the Society.
  • Supporters do not attend meetings and do not have voting privileges.

  • If you are not eligible for the Full Membership we encourage you to contact the Association to subscribe to our newsletter for $25 per year.
